Doing high-quality work while minimizing environmental impact
At Kontur Merch, we try to do things in a way that’s as gentle on nature as possible. We set up our machines to keep electricity, water, and material waste to a minimum. Our embroidery is GOTS-certified, which is a clear mark of quality and our commitment to the environment. While we don't have this specific certification for other techniques like printing yet, we still put a lot of care into selecting high-quality materials so that your items last as long as possible.
We care about the little things, too. That’s why we use special certified oils for our machines. They’re safe, free from heavy metals, and contain nothing that could harm the environment or affect the quality of your clothing. IIf you are interested in the composition of our oil, we would be happy to show you its certificate.
We also try to avoid waste in our workshop as much as we can. We hate throwing things away if they can still be useful, so we wash and reuse our cleaning cloths over and over. If we mess up a test print or embroidery, we don't just trash it; we keep it for future machine tests. Anything that truly can't be used anymore gets sent to a partner who recycles textiles. We even use polypropylene (PP) for our packaging because it’s easily recyclable.

As we care about what we offer, we’ve chosen a responsible approach, which is why our embroidery is certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

GOTS is a certification that ensures textiles are produced with respect for the environment throughout the entire production process—from growing the raw materials, through fabric processing, all the way to final printing, packaging, and distribution. At every step, it is monitored that production has minimal environmental impact and takes place under fair and safe working conditions for everyone involved.
In practice, this means using more environmentally friendly materials, gentler chemical processes, and rigorous production control to keep its impact on the environment as low as possible.
Certification is granted by independent organizations and the entire process is regularly audited, so you can be sure that products with the GOTS label are created with an emphasis on quality, sustainability and a responsible approach.
